
A lifelong resident of Carlisle, Dr. Michelle Palmer has dedicated her career to education. For more than two decades, she has served students and families across Pennsylvania’s public education system. Michelle spent sixteen years as a high school social studies teacher in both Carlisle and Harrisburg before moving into administrative roles in the Harrisburg School
District.
She currently serves as the Senior Regional Lead for School Improvement on the Pennsylvania Statewide School Improvement Team. Before beginning her college education, Michelle proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in secondary social studies education, a master’s degree in special education, and a doctorate in educational leadership, all from Shippensburg University.
Michelle is deeply engaged in her community and serves in multiple roles, including with the Carlisle Rotary Club and the Harrisburg Alumni Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her son, family, and friends. She welcomes any
opportunity to visit the beach and has a particular love for history—especially oral histories.
